‘ The Emily Ann Walker Cup and Trophies ‘

As the culmination of the Junior Coaching Sessions for 2011, the Emily Ann Walker Cup and Trophies were played for by the two groups of Juniors. In what turned out to be two closely contested competitions, Group 1 played on Monday the 5th. September and Group 2 played on Monday the 12th. September.

After the latter competition, a Presentation Evening was held in the Clubhouse when the Lady Captain, Jane Scott, presented the prizes to the following :

Group 1 Winner : Robert Ryan (Trophy) ~ Runner -up Oliver Burns (Trophy)
Group 2 Winner : Kerr Sutherland (Cup & Trophy) ~ Runner-up Lauren Gray (Trophy)

Summary : Nineteen juniors signed up for the Golf Coaching sessions and these were generally well attended. Bearing in mind, the young age of these juniors ( twelve years old and under), most made significant progress with their swing technique though there is still much work to be done. It is hoped that next year, the momentum gained in the past two years will continue and that more of these juniors will become competent enough to play on the golf course.

A special ‘thank you’ to Mums Catherine, Mary Ellen & Rose as well as Jane and Ally for their much appreciated help with the juniors on Monday evenings.
